  When I first moved to Ashton at Oyster Point, I had NO major complaints. At that time, Tara Cooper was the office manager. Tara was very professional and approachable. When she was there, things ran smoothly. When Tara left, the new woman in the office was... nice. However, over the last year, things seem to be falling apart. I had a issue where my power was "cut off" without my knowledge and had to pay an extra $300 due to a miscommunication with VA Dominion Power and the apartments. I honestly believe that it was Dominion power's fault, but the rental office attempted to charge me twice for something I did not do. As of recently, the office staff seem to be lost. I received a notice about my utilities being late, which I NEVER pay late. I'm not sure if they are having personal issues or whatnot, but I have had nothing by issues since TARA left. I would not refer a friend to reside in the apartment complex. I have contemplated breaking my lease several times! Also, if you have breathing issues... DON'T live out here. People in my building smoking cigarettes all day.. and I've recently started to smell marijuana very potently in the halls. The cigarette is so bad that my closets smell like cigarettes which effects my clothing. I have had bronchitis twice since living out here. It's terrible and not worth the rent. The cigarettes smell is so bad in my bedrooms to the point where I sleep on the couch. I have closed all my vents... and I still get smoked out! I've noticed the like to put dog owners on the first levels so that the dogs will not be loud over others (considerate) but I'd rather deal with a loud dog, then someone who smokes. Smokers should be placed on the 3 rd floor... hospitals have smoke free campuses.. is it against the law to have a smoke free apartment community? I'm just sick of being sick and I just renewed my least and considering terminating it!! If you have children, this isn't the community for you. There is no park or even a field for the children.
